Hi friends! Thanks for joining me in my years-long resolution to start blogging!
For those of you who don't know, I'm running the 2017 Boston Marathon (!!!) for Back on My Feet. It will be my first marathon, and even though I spent the past 2 years saying I'll never run a marathon, I'm so excited to run Boston for such a great cause.
BOMF is a national non-profit organization that "combats homelessness through the power of running, community support and essential employment and housing resources." I first really learned about BOMF at a charity gala I attended last fall (2016) with Janji Corps (Janji is a running apparel company that gives clean water to countries around the world, and I'm fortunate enough to be one of their ambassadors.) It was moving to hear what a difference BOMF has made in so many people's lives, and I knew that if I ever wanted to run a marathon-- Boston nonetheless-- now was the time!
After talking things over with my coach (hey Stamgator!), we (really, he-- he's the brains) decided that after 4 half marathons this year, and being able to keep my body injury-free 95% of the time, meant we were good to go for marathon training. I kicked off training "officially" last week, and will be using marathon training as a push to actually start a blog.
Don't like running (or think training/race recaps are boring?) No worries-- I also plan to share about cooking, travels, and all other things I love, which are not limited to:
- staying organized
- ice cream
- fitness classes
- did I mention puppies?
I hope you all have a great holiday season, and an amazing New Years! May it be filled with tequila, friends, and finding someone cute to kiss at midnight (hi Jon!)
